Whenever the lease has ended for a particular device, it’s important to be certain all of your critical data is removed from the hard drive.
No matter the brand at minimum the hard drive or memory should be scrubbed to remove any and all information that may still be stored. This may be no more than IP or e-mail addresses.
Trust IBSI to always be looking out for your best interest first by alerting you to the fact that confidential information could be present in memory or on a hard drive of these devices.
Then IBSI provides data cleansing or hard drive removal services to either overwrite and reformat or completely remove and destroy the hard drive(s) residing in your equipment.
The latter option is what we recommend as being the most effective for banking, mortgage, health care, insurance and government placements depending upon the laws and regulations regarding the confidentiality of information received that govern these industries.
Most of our new Toshiba models are Security Enabled (SE) and come standard with hard drive encryption and data overwrite. The security offerings enable users to rest assured that their documents are safe and that these systems will not be compromised. The Encryption features 128-bit AES while the Data Overwrite securely erases all data meeting the Department of Defense (DoD) security standard 5220.22M.
